Obituary of Richard Ivar Anderson
Richard Ivar Anderson, 90, of Ocala, Fl, devoted and beloved husband of 67 years to Althea (Miller) Anderson, passed away on May 16, 2023. Formerly of Windsor, CT, he was the son of the late Ivar and Lilly (Anderson) Anderson. For several years he built homes and owned Anderson & Son Construction. He retired from HELCO before moving to Ocala, FL. He was a real estate agent with Big Sun Realty. Dick was a member of the Masonic Fraternity of CT, was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved traveling around the US with Althea. The special place they loved the most was traveling to Pigeon Forge, TN where they held family reunions.
Dick is survived by the love of his life, Althea. Dick leaves his daughter Debra, her husband David Slyne, his granddaughters Kristin, her husband Christopher Glaser and Courtney Slyne. His daughter Jackie-Lyn, her husband John Eichler, his granddaughter Brianne Eichler and his great grandson Ethan Bellinghausen. His grandson Erik Eichler and his wife Whitney, his great grandchildren, Kinsley and Greyson. His son Kenneth and his wife Marjoery, his grandson Jason and his wife Crystal, his great granddaughters Avery, Paisley and great grandson Jason Jr. His granddaughter Shannon Moore and her husband Josh and his great grandsons Jameson and Colt, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Ruth (Anderson) Gryzb.
Services will be private and at the coordination of the families wishes. Inurnment with Full Military Honors will preside at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
