Obituary of Gloria McQuarrie

Maria Gloria McQuarrie, born May 7th, 1942, in San Benito, Texas, passed away May 14th, 2023, in Ocala, Marion County, Florida at the age of 81.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” W. McQuarrie, parents Ramon Jr. and Bertha Villarreal and her brothers Reynaldo, Arnold, and Hector Villarreal.

Gloria graduated from San Benito High School in 1960, where she was a member of the band and a twirler for all 4 years, as well as a member of many different student clubs.

She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed her time working with her husband Bob at their Baskin Robbins shop serving ice cream and treats to the Ocala community. Her real passion and love came from spending time with her family.

Gloria is survived by her daughters: Cora McWhorter (Gary McWhorter), Gloria Bailey (Shane Bailey), Rhonda Cassidy (Jamie Cassidy), and Ramona Strausser (Kyle Strausser). Granddaughters: Amanda Lee (Greg Lee), Celina Michel, Caylie Stapleton (Solomon Stapleton), Shelby Prather (Aaron Prather), Avery Batchelor, Danielle Bailey, and Kayla Strausser. Great-grandchildren: Madison Lee, Logan Lee, Camilla Prather, and Charlotte Prather. Her siblings: Juan Manuel “Johnny” (wife Maria) Villarreal, Raymond (wife Oralia) Villarreal, Carmen (husband Jose) Lopez , and Lourdes Villarreal.

Gloria was also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends who will all miss her and her smile, that lit up any room she entered.
