Jim was my mentor. We worked a lot on the railroad together - he was the conductor, and I was his brakeman. My greatest memories are when we rode on top of the Kodak coal trains into their plant, long rides to Salamanca and most importantly our conversations. And what I learned most from Jim is - yes or no. There was no gray area. Jim was highly respected by everyone at CSX. He was my best friend. Because of his confidence, integrity, and leadership I later took part in some of his same ambitious career paths. I last saw Jim on a mail route, we greeted, we smiled, chatted quickly, and continued our work obligations. I will miss his smile, our great conversations and feeling of true brotherhood. Jim has impacted my life positively – and for that I am so grateful! To the Eaton family, I am sorry for your loss. I will deeply miss my comrade, Jim.
