Obituary of Florence Marie Joseph

Florence Marie Joseph, 84, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at home. She was born in Ocala and a lifetime resident. She was a member of Wyomina Park Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. With husband David she co-owned Dave’s Bar-B-Que. She volunteered many hours in her daughter Peggy’s classroom touching many students’ lives. To the students she will forever be known as “Grandma”.

She is survived by her daughter Peggy Miller; son-in-law John Miller; grandson Alex Miller; sister Louise Lee; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband David Joseph; her parents, Staley and Grace Harward; brothers; Clifford, Leo, Buddy Joe, Charles, Bill, and Richard Harward, all from Ocala.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12th at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala. Visitation from 10-11am, and Ceremony at 11am with Rev. Bob King officiating. Graveside services at Highland Memorial Park at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gentiva Hospice of Ocala.
