Obituary of Mabel Weeks Ryan

Mabel Weeks Ryan, 92, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Canterfield of Ocala in Ocala, Florida. She was born June 30, 1930, to Edward Lee Weeks and Iona Jones Weeks in Morehead City, North Carolina.

Mabel was a former resident of New Castle, Delaware and Wilmington, Delaware. She is a former member of the Dupont County Yacht Club. In 1946, she married Hugh George Ryan, Jr in New Castle, Delaware. Mabel retired from the Dupont Company where she was a secretary for many years. Hugh and Mabel moved to Ocala, Florida in April of 1988.      

Mabel was very involved in pro-life and was considered a warrior of Christ. She was co-founder along with her best friend Gail Zach of Life Education Ministry in Ocala, Fl. She frequently traveled across the country for pro-life causes.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Hugh, who passed away on March 2, 2002.

Mabel is survived by her nieces, Sandra (Charles) Magaw of Elkton, MD, Valerie Weeks Tallon of Florence, SC, and Eddy Weeks of Florence, SC.  

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, beginning at 10:00AM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17^th Street, Ocala, Fl 34471. Following the funeral service, a committal service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102^nd Ave, Bushnell, Fl 33513 beginning at 1:30PM.
