Obituary of Helen Marie McLean

Helen Marie McLean, 95, of Belleview, Florida passed away April 2, 2023, surrounded by family at her home. She was the wife of the late Lewis McLean who preceded her in death in 1980. Helen was born in 1928 to Ray and Agnes Goolsby in Summerfield, Florida. A graduate of Summerfield High School, she then moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked as a secretary at the Pentagon. It was here Helen would meet her husband, Lewis McLean. Helen and Lewis had their first born in Washington, D.C. but relocated to Belleview soon after to spend the remainder of their lives. Helen was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Belleview, where she could be found serving in the nursery, cooking dinners, or tidying up the campus. Helen loved her family (especially her grandchildren) and would brag on them endlessly. As someone who was always on the go, she had many hobbies which included fishing, gardening, crocheting, bird watching, cooking/baking, and cheering on her beloved Gators and Rays. Helen is survived by her children; Patricia Raymond (Don) of Ocala, FL and Kenneth McLean (Debbie) of Satsuma, FL and Nancy Mahoney of Ocala, FL and Carol King (Todd) of Belleview, FL. She has 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Keith Reid McLean and brother, Dewitt Goolsby and sister, Zola McLean. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Belleview on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM with The Rev. Ronald Walker and Rev.
