Obituary of Geraldyne Field

Gerri died peacefully, surrounded by family and much love, on Saturday, March 4^th, at Cates Hospice House in Ocala. She was 89 years old.

Born in Bay Minette, Alabama, to Warren and Lucille Cooley, she moved to Miami at an early age and settled in Ocala sixty years ago. Gerri's first job out of high school was as a legal secretary and she stayed in that profession her entire working life, retiring as a paralegal.

She married the love of her life, Larry Field, in 1951, and they were together for 64 years until his death in 2015. She is survived by their four children, daughters Robin Zock (James) of Ocala, Karen Barker (Chuck) also of Ocala, and Biddie Ray (Mike) of Woodland, Alabama, and one son, Keith Field (Jean) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Warren Zock, Michael Zock, Brittney Barker, Sarah Sperring, Tommy Ray, Kayden Fleming, Eden Ray, and Olivia Lau along with sixteen great grandchildren. Two siblings, Lois Moon and Arthur Cooley, predeceased her. She is survived by her youngest sister, Jackie Walker.

Her funeral will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 10050 US 27 S, Ocala, FL, on Saturday morning, March 11^th, 2023. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:00 and the service will start at 10:00, with burial immediately after the service in Fellowship Baptist Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home. Mama loved bright, happy, colors, so if you feel led to do so, please wear "happy" colors to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Cates Hospice House, 9505 SW 110^th St. Ocala, FL 34481, would be appreciated. They were wonderful to her in her final days.
