Obituary of Dorothy G. Hickman

Dorothy G Hickman was born on February 8, 1925, in Miami, Florida, to Annie Belle Gresham and J. H. Gresham and passed away on February 21, 2023, in Ocala, Florida.

She retired from AT&T after 35 years of service and enjoyed traveling to many countries and was a very active member of Ocala Christian Women’s Connection and served on the Board.

Dorothy attended and was a member of College Road Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her role as the “greeter.” She also attended Fellowship Baptist Church. She will always be remembered for her shared love of the Lord with her family and friends throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.H. and Annie Belle Gresham, husband Berl C. Hickman, daughter Wendy J. Powell, son-in-law Richard G Barkley, grandson Eddie Alexander, and great-grandson Carter Barkley.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters Darlene (Wayne) Pogue and Robin Barkley, and son Henry E. Petit, Jr.

Greg (April Baxter) Barkley, Tawnie Goberville, Henry E. (Jennifer) Petit, III, Nancy Petit, Julie (Rick) Miller, and Diana (Craig) Allen.
