Obituary of Elizabeth Cosme
Elizabeth Cosme, 73, of Ocala, Florida, passed away surrounded by family on February 3, 2023. Was born December 13, 1949, the daughter of the late Miguel A. Rivera and Angela Rivera, both from Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Liz, as she was known by all, was a native of Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Canarsie High School and Kingsborough Community College, where she attained an AIB – Branch Operations Diploma and moved into her lifelong profession of Banking. She moved to Plantation Acres, Florida in the early 70s where she went from city life to country life, which provided quite a culture shock for her but adapted in no time at all. Paso Fino Horses were a main part of her life as she loved her horses Cefiro and Chino and became a professional horse show announcer known as “Liz La Voz.” Her favorite childhood moment was that of Prospect Park in Brooklyn with the rowboats and carousel. Her proudest moment was becoming a mother and grandmother. Her fondest memory was caring for her mother and their trips and the births of her grandsons.
Liz is survived by her loving husband, Armando; her daughter Lisa and son-in-law David; grandchildren, Nicholas and Anthony; siblings, Norma, George, and Irma; nieces and nephews, Cindy, Lenny, Carlos, Gina, Marisa, Laura, Miguel, and Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Angela.
