Obituary of June K Jaycox
June Jaycox was born in New York and has been a resident of Ocala, Florida, since 1954, having moved there after graduating college. She met her husband, Bob Jaycox, while both were volunteering at the Ocala Civic Theater building and painting the backdrop sets. June was an art teacher and taught elementary-aged children in the Marion County Florida School System. She loved playing the organ, painting, quilting, sewing, and taking care of her beautiful flowers.
June and Bob were the co-founders of the Historic Ocala Preservation Society (HOPS) with Armand and Shirley Lovell, and they attended Ocala First United Methodist Church.
June is survived by her two children Betsy Bledsoe (Phillip) of Ocala, FL, and Bill Jaycox (Mary) of Jacksonville, FL. There are also four grandchildren, which she loved dearly, Noelle Jaycox Acosta, Shannon Jaycox, Robert Bledsoe, and Randy Jaycox, as well as two very special great-grandsons.
There will be a family service to celebrate June’s life at a later date.
