Obituary of Robert Lewis Renner Jr.
On December 18th, 2022, Robert Lewis Renner Jr., of Ocala, Florida, finished his race. He fought the good fight and kept the faith.
Robert, best known by Bob or Dink, was born on December 07, 1946, on Long Island, New York to Robert Lewis Renner Sr. and Ruth Hummel Renner.
Robert graduated high school in 1964 at Cocoa High School. Later he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Florida in June 1969. He followed that with a Masters of Agriculture with specialization in Poultry Science at the University of Florida in 1971.
He devoted his life to the education of agriculture and livestock among the youth of Marion County. In 1973, he began working for the Marion County Extension Service as an Ag and 4-H agent. He continued his service for 30 years, and then well after retirement. He inspired the growth of membership from 105 to 1,200 youth during his time.
Robert enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, historical reading, and cheering on his Gators through all kinds of weather.
His legacy of ‘making the best better’ lives on through his wife, Janice Nemeth Renner, daughter, Krista Renner Wilson (Husband Brandon and children Emma, Renner, and Isaac), son, Micah Renner (Wife Whitney), and brother Bruce Renner (Wife D’Ann) along with numerous other family and friends.
A celebration of life is planned for January 11th, 2023 at 2:00PM at Central Christian Church, 3010 NE 14th St. Ocala, FL 34470. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Marion County 4-H or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
