Obituary of Katey Brooks-Anne Griffith

Katey, 29, of Belleview, Fl. went to be with her Lord and Savior, in her sleep at her aunt’s home in Summerfield, Florida where she was residing on November 10, 2022. She loved Jesus and her last post was about how she loved the Lord and her family. Katey was born in Ocala, Florida on February 17, 1993 to parents Jimmy Bankhead, (Alabama) father and Melanie Griffith, (Micanopy) Mother. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and attending Keiser University to become a Registered Nurse. She had such great plans for her future. She had a passion for caring for sick or disabled people. Her heart was so tender. At tender age of 21, Katey took the responsibility and custody of raising her much loved siblings Skylar, Abigail and Carson Semons. She loved her siblings as her own children. Later she had her own daughters, Ameliah McKenley Wheeler 6, and Avayah Kenadi Wheeler 5, who were the greatest loves of her life. She was a fantastic mother and would go to the ends of the earth for them both. She will be their heavenly guardian angel now. She loved their father Bernard Wheeler who will take loving care of them. He is also a great father and adores his girls. Katey always had such a positive attitude even in the face of adversity and always looked to the good in everyone and everything. Her sense of humor and laugh were contagious to everyone. Katey will leave an enormous hole in our large extended family. It will never be the same without her. However, we will all love and care for her beautiful daughters. Katey is survived by parents, Jimmy Bankhead and Melanie Griffith, Her beautiful young daughters Ameliah Wheeler, Avayah Wheeler and their father Bernard Wheeler, her grandparents, Linda Clifford and Dale Clifford of Ocala, FL and also is survived by her great grandmother Mary (Dot) Holmes (Orlando) and grandmother Wanda Bankhead (Morriston). She leaves behind her siblings: Skylar Semons (Belleview) Abigail Semons (Ocklawaha) Carson Semons (Ocklawaha) and James Bankhead (Milton Fl) . Katey has a huge extended family of aunts, uncle, cousins and relatives who will forever miss and love her. A memorial service will be held at The Church of Grace Church in Belleview, Florida on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm. A trust is being set up for Katey’s daughters Ameliah and Avayah Wheeler at Regions Bank in Belleview, FL.
