It saddens me to learn about Dick's passing. We were fellow squadron mates several times early in our career. The first time in USAF pilot training at Laredo AFB, then again at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, and finally at Braniff Airlines. My thoughts are with Sally and her family. Jeff Fought

I first knew Dick at Braniff and I was very happy when he came over to SWA. No one deserved the nickname "Smiley" more than him! I never saw him in the course of our careers that he wasn't smiling, or didn't speak, always in a good mood. Dick was a man of integrity and a gentleman, he will be sorely missed.
