Jane Swearingen Humphrey, 87, died in Ocala, FL on September 8, 2022
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 1 at Grace Episcopal Church in Ocala, FL with Fr. Jonathan French officiating
Mrs. Humphrey was born in Mobile, AL. Her parents were Ervin Everette Little and Jane Reed Hudson. She was predeceased by her husband, John Henry Humphrey.
Jane (Jennie) graduated from Summerlin Institute (Bartow, FL) and attended Florida State University. After raising 4 children she returned to school, graduating as a Registered Nurse from Central Florida Community College (Ocala, FL). She was a career RN at Munroe Memorial Hospital in Ocala, FL. Following her retirement, she remained active in choir, travel, VFW Auxiliary, and spending time with her beloved family,
She is survived by her three children, Carl Thomas (Tom) Curtis ll (and wife Vickie) of Lakeland, FL, Charles Edward (Charlie) Curtis of Clemson, SC, and Mary Jane Allison (and husband Randy) of Ocala, FL She was predeceased by one son, William Swearingen (Will) Curtis. In addition, she had a brother, Skip Swearingen (Wife Harriette) of Florence, SC, sister Lynne McKelvey of Brunswick, GA, sister Anne Little of Mobile, AL and brother Brooks Little. She is also survived by her 5 Grandchildren Emily Roberts, Reed Curtis, Andy Curtis, Ryan Allison, Evan Allison, as well as 7 Great-Grandchildren.
