Obituary of Wilma Andrews

Wilma McIver Andrews, 91, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, August 24, 2022. She grew up in Marion, NC. After graduating from East Tennessee State University, she went to Cedar Key, Florida to teach school.

Wilma met her husband Dan in 1952 and they were married the following summer. They came to Ocala to live in 1954. She was a stay-at-home mom until their fourth child started kindergarten. Wilma went back into teaching at Ward-Highlands Elementary school until her retirement.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Dan, her parents, a sister Martha and a brother Bill. She is survived by her children Mac(Becky), Lyn Powell(Doug), Cindy and Bill(Jeanne), 6 grandchildren: Leigh, Tyler, Ben, Bryan, West and Martha Lyn and 4 great-grandchildren: Cooper, Riley, Carter and Emmett. She is also survived by her sister Margaret McIver Bowman.

Wilma was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church for over 65 years. She was an active member serving as a Sunday School teacher, Circle Member and Deacon. Friends were so dear to her. She loved them all.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Interfaith Emergency Services or Salvation Army of Ocala.

Receiving of friends will be Friday, Sept 9th from 5:30-7:30 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home in Ocala. Service will be Saturday, Sept 10th at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian church of Ocala, Florida.
