Obituary of Mary Kathleen Owens

Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Owens, 68, of Ocala, FL passed away at home on Thursday, July 21, 2022. She was born in Christian County, IL on June 30, 1954. Kathy was raised in Illinois, moved to Florida 38 years ago with her family, and worked many years for the United States Postal Service until her retirement in 2009. She enjoyed reading books, watching classic movies, gardening, bird watching, and most of all she enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Kathy is survived by her son Thomas Stanfield and his wife Serenity of Summerfield; son Dr. Joseph Stanfield and his wife Vanessa of Ocala; son Dan Tye Stanfield, II and his wife Luciana of Winter Garden, FL; sister Christine Reed of IL; brothers Steve Orator & William Orator, both of IL; brother Dan Orator of Ocala; grandchildren Madison, Alison, Speed, DJ, Aidan, Jed, Asher, Jackson, Isabella, Tyler, and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her husband Doug Owens; parents Walter & Louise Orator; brother Larry Orator; sister Sue Butler; and a grandson Alex. A viewing will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10:00am until 12:00pm.
