I don’t know how to express the feelings of loss that I am feeling right now. I was planning to reach out to Melissa and our Gainesville friends to organize a little reunion out in Green Swamp when I found the news. I will always remember Melissa as being on-rope or in SCUBA gear. I don’ know many other women that can be described as “Good with a with a 12 gauge”. Melissa always had nerves of steel and an unstoppable combination of intelligence, grit, and fortitude. Her steady moral compass kept our crew out of a lot of trouble in our younger days. “My condolences” just doesn’t say enough. Dan Jerome
