I have known Ron since I was a teenager. His Father and my Father were peer Methodist Ministers in the New York Conference so, though he was much older than I, I did know him. In fact, Ron was my hiring Manager at IBM Poughkeepsie after I returned from Vietnam. Of course, I didn't see him or, if I did, it was rare but we did exchange an occasional email. When I moved to The Villages in 2005, I had an "IBM RETIRED" sign on my cart windshield. One day, while passing Palmer, someone in another cart going the Opposite direction yelled "IBM!". Of course, we stopped and looked at each other..he said, "You're John Davies!" I said, incredulously, "You're Ron Husted!!!". Ron and I and that story were featured on the cover of the very first edition of the special magazine that focused on residents' activities(I don't recall the name). After this, I saw him occasionally at the IBM Club meetings but rarely.
Please accept my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies. He was a wonderful person. The family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Fair winds and following seas to Ron and may he rest in blessed peace.
