Obituary of June Otto

June Grace Nugent Otto, 95 of Ocala, FL passed away May 29th 2022.  She was born May 7, 1927 in Madison, South Dakota, where she would live until she graduated from South Dakota State College in 1949 with a BS degree in Home Economics.

She met and married Norman Otto in 1951 and subsequently June and Norm moved to Minneapolis, MN and settled in New Brighton, MN.  Their next stop was Ocala, FL in 1990.

June is survived by her children; Mark, Jean, Steve and Paul, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her brother Jim Nugent of Bella Vista, AR.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, granddaughter Shannon and sisters Joy and Joanne.

A memorial service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services-TimberRidge located at 9695 SW 110th St, Ocala, FL 34481 on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 AM.  Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.

June’s Own Thoughts

I was born in Madison, SD in 1927 during the dust bowl time.  I grew up with great fun loving parents instilling good morals and values in their 4 children.

We were poor, but I never knew we were because we raised cattle, hogs, chickens and had a large garden.  My parents shared food with many unfortunate relatives and friends and were always willing and ready to help anyone who needed help.

Friends of Mother would say that her right hand never knew what her left hand was doing.

I feel that because of their teaching and living by example, I am the person I am today!
