Obituary of Beatrice Ellen Voytko
Beatrice Ellen Voytko, 80, of Ocala, Florida passed away at EW & Lucille Cates House on May 29, 2022. She was born February 9, 1942, the daughter of the late William H. and Mary A. Luche. Beatrice was a native of The Bronx, New York, before moving to Ocala from Syracuse in 2004. She married her loving husband, John Joseph Voytko, and together the two shared many years of love and happiness before his passing. Beatrice was an insurance underwriter for many years before her retirement. She was a devoted Catholic who attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Beatrice was also a member of the OCDS: Carmelite Sister and her Carmelite name was Beatrice Therese of the Holy Face and the Abandoned. In her free time, Beatrice would spend time with her Carmelite community, neighbors, and friends and enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Beatrice was a volunteer for Hospice of Marion County for over five years. She loved to travel and participate as a Secular Carmelite supporting the Right to Life Programs.
Beatrice is survived by her sisters, Mary L. (James) Nealy and Francine Schulze; and many, many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly, including her niece, Eileen Nealy of Ocala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and her siblings, Laurel Ann Luche, Margaret H. Eckloff, Alice Pumilia, and Daniel Luche.
A funeral mass for Beatrice will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 8 at 8:30am. Visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services on Tuesday, June 7 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Beatrice’s name to Hospice of Marion County.
