Angie and Al were our next-door neighbors on Bruce Road in Red Bank, New Jersey for more than twenty years. The day they joined our neighborhood was a blessing to us all. Angie was the kindest, most giving person we had ever met. She became the best friend of us all, especially the children. Angie took the kids apple-picking, on trips to the "farms" to shop for fruit and vegetables, on hayrides, beach excursions, and every kind of local exploration. If you had a pet, Angie loved to look after your dog or cat, either for an hour or a week--she loved them all. Halloween and Christmas were so special with the decorations and surprises. If Angie found something great in the shops, say the freshest fruit or a surprise from a bakery, your door bell was sure to ring -- sharing was just her way. Candy was never far away. Her English treats were legendary--especially the "trifle" dessert. How often did we enjoy backyard bar-b-ques, attempted sleighrides-- Angie always threw the first snowballs-- even just rolling down the hills when they were covered in leaves. "Aunt Angie" was our daughters special friend---they went off together and had special words and secrets, played with dolls, Beany-Babies, Lego, and all the board games. To say that the world was a better place because Angie was in it would be an understatement. She spread joy throughout her days, and the joy that she created remains a part of all who knew her.
