Obituary of Stephen R. Sheoraj

Stephen R. Sheoraj, 82, of Ocala, Florida passed away at E.W. & Lucille Cates Hospice House on May 5, 2022. He was born November 28, 1939, in Bath Settlement, Guyana, the son of the late Rajaram and Paramdai Sewgoolam. Stephen and his loving wife, Sheila, moved to the Ocala area from Connecticut 20 years ago. He was an accountant for many years prior to his retirement. Stephen was a priest who enjoyed teaching Sunday school in his Hindu community. In his free time, he enjoyed being a yoga teacher, gardening, listening to music, spending time outdoors, and most importantly, reading more about religions. Stephen was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Sheila; his daughters, Janet (Paul) Narine and Anita (Ken Collins) Sheoraj; his son, Hamlet (Molly) Sheoraj; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anet Sheoraj; and his parents.

A funeral service for Stephen will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 10 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge (9695 SW 110th Street, Ocala, FL 34481). Visitation will take place from 9:00am until the time of the service. Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.
