I will always remember Gary’s engaging smile and kindness towards all he encountered. We were so blessed to have him as part of our DHL family. One of my memories was during a meeting about market rates Gary said - “The market is what people are willing to pay!”. I so admired his practical approach. Dear Schultheis family,
Please accept my warmest condolences; I am deeply sorry for your loss.
I remember meeting Gary while I was on the DGF Latin America team. He took additional responsibilities to all Americas region.
I had the privilege to hear him monthly sharing his vast knowledge of the air freight market and experience his fantastic sense of humor.
Although I was young and inexperienced, Gary was always kind, friendly, and respectful. I looked up to him as a role model in the company.
Gary will be fondly remembered.

My most sincere sentiment of empathy for the loss of our friend, colleague and role model Gary.
Before joining the DGF Team, I remember seeing him periodically, early AM, around campus (Plantation), and many months later I joined DGF-USA and met Gary formally... He told me: "I remember you because you always say hello with a smile when I see you in the parking lot"... Well, since then, I always say hello with a smile to people I run into, whether I know them or not.
If this was noticed by Gary Schultheis, it must be a good habit to have!

Dear Mary Ann,
My heart dropped and my spirit wept when I read the news of Gary's passing. And then, I thought about him and all he did for so many, myself in particular... and I smiled, a huge smile of gratitude. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family in this time of loss. For over a decade, working side-by-side, Gary treated me like family. He gave so much to me in the way of knowledge, mentorship, and friendship. A few years ago I received a tremendous compliment. A former colleague told me that I reminded them of Gary. I shared this with him in a message. The reply I got was "I would expect you to be much better than me. Just stay true to your convictions and you will continue to move upward." My husband once told me that he wanted to be a teacher and you know what, he was! He gave everything he had and then some. God Bless everyone for their kind words and remember, he's always watching.
