Dear Mary Ann and family,
Please receive my deepest condolences. We worked together with Gary and it was a true honor for me. He never made his overwhelming experience and expertise, overwhelming for others, even for rookies like me. His kindness and team approach were always put before his own needs. I would not want to miss mentioning his sense of humor …A true gentleman and example for all of us. We are missing him

I will always remember Gary’s engaging smile and kindness towards all he encountered. We were so blessed to have him as part of our DHL family. One of my memories was during a meeting about market rates Gary said - “The market is what people are willing to pay!”. I so admired his practical approach. May you find comfort in knowing that Gary was loved by so many. My sincere condolences.

My sincere condolences to the entire Schultheis family. Gary was my boss for many years and taught me more than i probably even know. He always challenged me, but at the same time he always supported and advocated for me. I appreciated Gary's example and was truly saddened when I learned of his passing. May God bless and comfort you as you remember and celebrate Gary's wonderful life.

Dear Schultheis family,
Please accept my warmest condolences; I am deeply sorry for your loss.
I remember meeting Gary while I was on the DGF Latin America team. He took additional responsibilities to all Americas region.
I had the privilege to hear him monthly sharing his vast knowledge of the air freight market and experience his fantastic sense of humor.
Although I was young and inexperienced, Gary was always kind, friendly, and respectful. I looked up to him as a role model in the company.
Gary will be fondly remembered.
Sincerely,
Paulo Nunez

To the Schultheis family, my sincere condolences. As a DGF bid team employee in Seattle, I did not know Gary well, but remember him stopping by to visit the bid team during his vacation, on his way to a cruise. I was impressed that he would take the time on his vacation for a visit.
Praying for comfort during this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to Gary's family and friends. He offered me so much knowledge during his time in Atlanta and then beyond. I appreciated his demeanor and being able to speak with him candidly. He also LOVED to participate in our birthday or food celebrations at work. It was great to see the way he always interacted with our entire team. He will be sorely missed. My most sincere sentiment of empathy for the loss of our friend, colleague and role model Gary.
Before joining the DGF Team, I remember seeing him periodically, early AM, around campus (Plantation), and many months later I joined DGF-USA and met Gary formally... He told me: "I remember you because you always say hello with a smile when I see you in the parking lot"... Well, since then, I always say hello with a smile to people I run into, whether I know them or not.
If this was noticed by Gary Schultheis, it must be a good habit to have!
Thank you Gary for all lessons about Air Freight, and specially about Life.

Dear Mary Ann,
My heart dropped and my spirit wept when I read the news of Gary's passing. And then, I thought about him and all he did for so many, myself in particular... and I smiled, a huge smile of gratitude. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family in this time of loss. For over a decade, working side-by-side, Gary treated me like family. He gave so much to me in the way of knowledge, mentorship, and friendship. A few years ago I received a tremendous compliment. A former colleague told me that I reminded them of Gary. I shared this with him in a message. The reply I got was "I would expect you to be much better than me. Just stay true to your convictions and you will continue to move upward." I think that says it all and is more than enough. Love, Rob

Thank you Rob, and to everyone with their kind words and memories of Gary. He was one of a kind. He loved woking and mentoring everyone. My husband once told me that he wanted to be a teacher and you know what, he was! He gave everything he had and then some. God Bless everyone for their kind words and remember, he's always watching.

Dear Mary Ann and family,
On behalf of Brenda and I, along with all of his many DHL colleagues from around the world, we were saddened to learn of Gary's passing this week. We worked together for several years, and he was always such an outstanding colleague. Even in the most difficult situations, Gary was always able to lighten things up with his humor and "get it done" attitude. He touched many people along the way, and he will surely be missed. Please accept our sincere sympathies, and know that time will help heal the pain of your loss.
