Obituary of Loretta “Pat” H. Stephens

Loretta “Pat” H. Stephens, 92, of Ocala, Florida passed away at her home on Monday, April 4, 2022. She was born on April 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Elvin S. Hicks and Mae Ikard Hicks. A lifelong resident of Marion County, Pat was born in Munroe Memorial Hospital. She was a 1947 graduate of Ocala High School and then attended Florida State University. Then she graduated in 1970 with high honors from the University of Florida.

Pat taught 5^th grade for 24 years in Marion County at both Oakcrest and Ocala Springs Elementary schools. Her hobbies included painting, fishing, and being a world traveler. Pat was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ocala.

Pat is survived by her four sons, Thomas S. (Anna) Stephens, Richard E. (Cherry) Stephens, Harry A. (Bonnie) Stephens, and Larry D. (Vicky) Stephens; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin S. Stephens; her parents, Elvin and Mae Hicks; and her sisters, Pauline F. Hicks and Bonnie K. Carpenter.

A funeral service for Pat will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 10 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services. Visitation will take place from 12:00pm until the time of the service.
