Obituary of Lester Terrell Smith
With great sadness and a true sense of loss we announce the passing of our brother Lester on Friday April 1st from lung cancer. Lester was born in Gainesville Nov. 6th 1950 and a resident of Ocala since 1963. Lester is predeceased in death by our parents Leo and Ara Smith. He is survived by his siblings Terri Warrington (Ed), Lea Duke (Pat), twin brother Leo Jr. (Janice), and Deborah Brochetti (Greg). He is also survived by nieces and nephews Greg, A.J., Tomi, Penny, Justin, Jessica, Mallary and Hunter. Uncle Lester will also be greatly missed by his great nieces, “his girls”, Morgan and Skyler.
Lester was such a gentle and caring person. He always looked forward to his Monday morning breakfast “club” with the guys, and their time together. His longtime friend Joel was always there for him. Lester loved his family more than anything. His true love was our Mother. He never got over the loss. He was truly a “Mama’s” boy.
Lester worked and retired from Sears. He worked in management in the Ocala, Gainesville, and Crystal River stores. He was a people person, and highly thought of by his peers and employees.
Please join us in celebrating Lester’s life Thursday April 7th 2:00 pm, at Hiers Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd in Ocala. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to HUGs Charities, PO Box 34 Ocala, Fl. 34478
