Obituary of William Samuel Pruitt
Our beloved William went to be with our Lord on March 8, 2022 after a difficult battle with cancer. William was born and raised in Ocala, Florida. Upon graduation from Ocala High School, he joined the Navy and served his country honorably on board the USS SUFFOLK in Norfolk, VA. After completing a successful tour in the Navy, he came back to Ocala and worked several different jobs until his employment at Ring Power Ocala where he remained until his retirement after 20 years. William’s love of fishing, camping, and spending time with his family was an integral part of his life. He loved the outdoors and everything that it had to offer. Most summers would be filled with grand kids at the campsite or fishing off a boat or the shore. Most recent, William and his wife Patty enjoyed traveling and camping all across the southern United States and most recently fell in love with North Carolina and everything that the mountains had to offer.
William is survived by his wife Patty; Brothers, Bruce Pruitt (Linda), Steve Pruitt, Warren Bullard; Sister, Carolyn Grant; Sons, Chris Pruitt (Melissa), Ronnie Whitmore; Daughter Jacquelyn Rock (Bart Urnowey), six Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. William is proceeded in death by his parents Paul and Merle Pruitt and Hazel Bozeman, Daughter-In-Law Lorie Whitmore, and Grandson Lee Whitmore.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. on March 17, 2022 at Berean Baptist Church in Ocala, FL. Burial will be on March 18, 2022 at 12:30pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.
