Obituary of Wayne Norman Clinton
Wayne Norman Clinton was born in Hastings, Michigan on August 28, 1930, to the late Dorothy (Cisler) and Ray Clinton, and died April 21, 2021, at his home in Ocala, Florida. Wayne is survived by his wife, Judith (Kelly, Merrill) daughter Cindy Clinton (Doug Wise), stepdaughter Kelly Merrill Flores-New (Fernando), granddaughter Sydney Flores-New and great-grandsons Phoenix and Ryder, grandson Patrick J. Warnars, and son-in-law Kevin Boland. Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter Marilyn Boland, stepson Patrick L. Merrill, his first wife Joan (Wilson), brother Jack and sister Sally (Dave) Moore.
Wayne lived with his maternal grandparents during the Great Depression and attended a one-room schoolhouse ages 4-12, then transferred to Hastings Public Schools where he graduated in 1948. In 1951, Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, with a year in Korea, stationed on the Injim River. In 1954, Waqyned joined the Michigan SDtate Police and served nearly 25 years, first as a Trooper, including one of four assigned to Governor G. Mennen Williams Security Detail 1957-59, then as a Detective-Latent Print Specialist in the first MSP Crime Lab from 1966-79. Wayne served as Court Officers o the Michigan Supreme Court from 1979-92. Wayne and Judy married on March 9, 1985, and upon retirement, move to Ocala, FL. They enjoyed travels around the U.S. and Europe, with summers in the U.P. of Michigan, in addition to many happy visits with family and friends. Wayne enjoyed golf, with a "hole in one" for added excitement. Wayne was an exemplary man, loving and loved, with a truly unforgettable zest for life.
Interment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
