Obituary of Nicholas Vincent Zancanata

Nicholas Vincent Zancanata, 42, of Alachua passed away at his residence on March 3, 2022. Nicholas was a native of Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Whether you knew him as Nicholas, Nick, Zan or Zanc his passion for adrenaline can be seen in both his personal and professional life.  Before the fire service he worked in Stocks and Mortgage Lending for seven-years in Boca Raton, FL. At the time of his death, he was a 14-year veteran of Marion County Fire Rescue as a Driver Engineer. Yet, with his family and friends he spent his time SCUBA diving and riding his KTM.  His greatest excitement and sense of pride however was their two beautiful children, Jenson and Hannah and participated in all of their various activities such as gymnastics, soccer, geo caching, exploring new places and going to the beach.  Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; children, Jenson, and Hannah; sister Natalie; father Rodney and Ann Marie, and the family’s special four-legged friends Dexter and Cooper. He is preceded in death by his mother Iris Zanacanata; and Zan and Jenson’s best puppers, Alfy.  A Celebration of Zan’s life will be held at 2pm, on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 East Sliver Springs Boulevard, Ocala.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the gofund.me page for the children’s immediate needs, https://gofund.me/22b5cb3f.  Online condolences may be sent at http://www.hiers-baxley.com.
