Obituary of Bruce W. Jamieson
Bruce W. Jamieson, 87, of Ocala, Florida passed away February 26, 2022. He was born April 21, 1934 in Niagara Falls, New York, the son of the late David Ferguson and Helen (Mentor) Jamieson.
Bruce graduated from Springfield College in Massachusetts in 1956 with majors in Non Profit Management, Group Work, and Community Organization. He also served on Springfield College’s Board of Trustees, Corporation and Development Committee for over twenty years.
Bruce spent his career in the nonprofit field serving others. Over the years he held executive positions with the American Cancer Society, the YMCA, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Human Service (Denver, CO). He also served as a Consultant Vice President with Brakeley, John Price Jones, a national fundraising consulting firm. For over 25 years, Bruce was Chairman & Founder of his own consulting firm, The Jamieson Company, with clients that included MasterCard International Inc. “Choose to Make a Difference” program, Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute Foundation, National Council on Child Abuse and Family Violence, the General Curtis LeMay Foundations, American Liver Foundation, Fleet Landing Endowment Fund, and the Colorado Haiti Project.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Denise Gusa Jamieson; daughter, Carin Jamieson and her partner, Ed Caliri; son, Paul Jamieson and his wife, Leigh Gallo; son, Peter Jamieson and his wife, Patricia; and his grandchildren, Peter (PJ), Michael, Ian, Sean, and Pierce Jamieson.
