Obituary of Frances A. Kolonia

Frances A. Kolonia, age 89 was born and raised in Norwell, Massachusetts,, a small New England town south of Boston. She graduated from Norwell High school in 1949 and the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston in 1951. She was married to David K. Kolonia in 1954 and they have three grown children, Gregory Scott Kolonia, Douglas Keith Kolonia, and Pamela Ann Kolonia-James. Two grandchildren Cameron James and Jessica James.

She moved to Alachua County, Florida in 1970 and moved to Marion County.

Her first affiliation with Friends of the Library began in 1972 when she was elected Recording Secretary of the Gainesville Friends of the Library. From 1992 to 1994 she was President of GFWWC Woman’s Club of Ocala.  She held various offices,  1994-1996 Newsletter Editor of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Ocala, 1998-1999  GFWC Woman’s Club of Ocala Hacienda Chairman and Public Relations Chairman, 1999-2000 Newsletter Editor and PR Chair, Ocala Woman’s Club, 2000-2002  Recording Secretary, GFWC Women’s Club Publicity Chairman, 2002- 2003 Publicity Chairman, GFWC Woman’s Club of Ocala Librarian, Woman’s Club Book Club, 2003-2004 Social Chairman and Publicity Chairman, GFWC Woman’s Club of Ocala, Librarian Book Club, 2002-2004 Florida Federation of Women’s Clun District 5 Director, Member of FFWC Board of Directors, 2004-2006 Recording Secretary, GFWC Woman’s Club of Ocala FFWC Woman’s Club, Member of Board of Directors, 2005- 2006 Publicity Chair, Woman’s Club of Ocala, 2005- 2006 Chairman and Librarian, Woman’s Club of Ocala, 2005- 2006 Chairman and Librarian, Woman’s Club Book Club,2006- 2007 Recording Secretary and Publicity, Woman’s Club Chairman and Librarian, Woman’s Club Book Club, 2010- 2012 President, 2015-2017 President, 2017 -2019 Recording Secretary.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery 1515 NE 3^rd Street Ocala, FL 34470.
