Obituary of Judy Elizabeth Swanson

Judy, age 68, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2022 due to terminal cancer. She was born March 26, 1953 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Joseph and Anne Fucci. She moved to Florida in the 60’s and never looked back. She considered Florida her true home.

Judy was known for her love of her family. She worked various jobs throughout her life but the most important one was being a homemaker and raising her only child Michael. She was a dedicated mother and embraced every moment. She especially loved her role as Mom Mom to her grand and great grandchildren. They were the light, joy and love of her life.

Judy had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and always left a lasting impression on anyone that came in contact with her.

A lot of people may not know this about Judy but back in the day she was a race car driver and she also enjoyed flying planes, she had gotten her cosmetology license being first in her class and graduated with honors. She absolutely loved volunteering her time to PTA at Michael’s school and being a band mom for the entire class when Michael was in band.

Judy is survived by her only child, her son Michael Opdyke and his wife Teala Opdyke. Her grandchildren Hannah Opdyke, Dallas Opdyke and his wife Taelor Opdyke. Her great grandchildren Finley Opdyke and Everley Opdyke. Her dogs Bella and Romeo.
