Obituary of Mary Belanger

Mary Belanger, 84, of Ocala, died Sunday, January 16, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald “Don” Belanger; son, Donald “Donnie” Belanger Jr. of Plantation, FL; daughter, Laura Naumann and her husband Terry of Leesburg, FL; grand-daughter, Teryn Prol and her husband, Ken of Alexandria, VA; grandson, Michael Belanger of Plantation, FL; and great-granddaughter, Piper Marie Prol of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by her sister, Grace Davison of Oakdale, NY and preceded in death by her brothers Vito, Pasquale, and Frank. 

She was born in Brooklyn, NY and previously lived in Central Islip, NY. Mary and her husband moved to Florida 51 years ago living in Hollywood and Plantation, FL. In 2005, they moved to Ocala, FL

She retired after 24 years, in 2003, as an Office Manager for the School Board of Broward County, FL. She enjoyed being with family and friends, gardening, playing cards and mahjong, frequent travel and cruises, cross stich, and decorative card making among other crafts. Mary was a long-standing member of the CFWC Greater Ocala Woman’s Club and Pioneer Garden Club. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will always be loved by us and never forgotten.

Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, January 21st at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Chapel (910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470) from 4PM to 6PM with family and friends. A Catholic Mass service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 22nd at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (5 SE 17th St, Ocala, FL 34471). Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park (1515 NE 3rd St, Ocala, FL 34470).
