Obituary of Donald Drew Brown

Donald Drew Brown Sr., 80, of Ocala, Florida, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Ocala, Florida.  Born in Wilmington, NC, Donald moved with his family to Ocala in 1979 from Howerton, VA.  He was a mechanic and shop foreman for the Marion County School Board bus garage.  Donald was an Army veteran and a member of AMVETS Post 22 in Ocala.  His greatest joys were being with his family, drinking coffee with friends and flirting with waitresses wherever he went. 

Donald was predeceased by his loving wife, Delores Patrick Brown, son, Donald Brown, Jr., and siblings Homer Brown, Robert Brown, Nell Dean Brown, Mary Catherine Brown and Charles Brown.  He is survived by his son, David Brown (Christine),  of Ocala, daughter-in-law, Tammy Brown, grandchildren, David Sweet and Heather Sweet, both of Ocala, and siblings, Morris Brown, James Brown, Betty Williamson and Brenda Robbins. 

A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Ocala Chapel, with a funeral service to be held there at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.  Entombment to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.  Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services of Ocala in charge of arrangements.
