Obituary of Bobbie Jo Engelhardt
Bobbie Jo Engelhardt, 70, of Ocala, Florida passed away at Ocala Regional Medical Center on January 7, 2022. She was born February 2, 1951, the daughter of the late Larry Harry and Betty Lou (Griffin) Kennedy. Bobbie was born in Opa Locka, Florida, and grew up in Hialeah, Florida before moving to the Ocala area in 1969. In 1969, Bobbie married her loving husband, Dennis, and together the two shared almost 53 years of love and happiness. Bobbie was the supervisor of transportation for Marion County School District for many years before her retirement in 2014. She started as a bus driver, moved into the office, was promoted to area coordinator, then when Jo Billings retired in 1996, she was promoted to Transportation Supervisor. One instance of her caring was when she had a young lady that worked as an Aide on the bus because she did not have a drivers license. When they were short of bus drivers, Bobbie asked her if she would like to be a driver to make more money. She said she did not have even a drivers license, so Bobbie studied with her and taught her to drive, then helped her get her license to drive a bus! Just the type of person she was, help everyone else!
Bobbie loved everyone she met; she mostly loved her 7 grandchildren and lived her life to take care of her husband, her children, and most of all, her grandchildren. She loved crafting, and fishing, and would do anything to help anyone.
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; children, Dennis Jr, Thomas, and Kris, Kris’ wife Kelly, Tom’s wife Julie, and Dennis Jr’s girlfriend Sabrina. Her surviving sibling is her brother Gary. She has 7 beautiful/handsome grandchildren that were her life, Lacy, married to Scotty, Hayleigh, Makenzi and her fiancé Jimmy, Kennedy, Katie, Jacob, and Gracie.
