Obituary of Laura Frances Stein

Laura Frances Stein, nee McCrory, 92 of Dunnellon, FL has passed away at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala, FL surrounded by family on December 23, 2021. Born in Port Chester, NY Laura attended Our Lady of Mercy Catholic school and graduated from St. Gabriel's Catholic High School in New Rochelle, NY in 1947. Laura was the oldest of 9 children with 6 surviving siblings, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles of 61 years.  Laura worked as a secretary, a school lunch coordinator, an insurance claims representative and later as the executive office manager for an insurance broker prior to retirement. She participated in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and the Goldens Bridge, NY Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed crafts and Bingo in retirement. 
Laura was a devout Roman Catholic and attended Queen of Peace and St. John's Churches in our area. 
Laura is survived by their three children Patti (Louis) Minotti of Dunnellon, FL, Charlotte (Lucinda) Katz of Ocala, FL and Chuck (Robin) Stein of Dunnellon, FL along with 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. 
A funeral mass will be held for Laura on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11am at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon with internment to follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens in Ocala. Arrangements by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services of Timber Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart  Association or Hospice of Marion County Florida are requested.
