Obituary of David Linden McDonald
David Linden McDonald A.K.A “Wildman”, 66, passed away surrounded by family November 10, 2021, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Wildman was born September 16, 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida to late William H. Jr. And Verna McDonald. Wildman was a 1973 football graduate of Forest High School. He then continued his education at Florida State University, where he received his Bachelors Degree and graduated with honors and became a very successful CPA having his own business of McDonald and Company in Ocala.
Wildman met his love, Jenny Lee and they married April 7, 1978. They started their life together in Summerfield, FL where they had one son, John Claude McDonald A.K.A Red-dog.
In his spare time outside of his CPA work and busy tax seasons Wildman enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He was an avid hunter of many different species, from the swamps in Florida getting the Gators to the bears in Quebec, Canada. He loved his home away from home at the fishing camp in Steinhatchee with his best sidekick, Jenny Lee, Red-dog and family where they enjoyed the water. Spending days at a time fishing, scalloping and their rides on the airboat in the flats of the Gulf.
Wildman was an active member of the Shriners, Lions Club, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Mason and many more.
David is survived by his loving wife, Jenny Lee McDonald of 44 years and son John Claude McDonald, Daughter in Law Melinda McDonald, grandson Lynden Teal McDonald all of Summerfield, FL. Brother William H McDonald, III and his wife Diane of Ocala, Fl. Sister Linda McDonald of High Springs, FL. Richard McDonald and his wife Maryanne of Ocala. Nieces Allison, Lindsay, Lauren and Gracie all of Ocala FL. Proceeded in death by both his Mother and Father and his nephew Alex McDonald.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34471. Friends may gather from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Condolences may be left at Hiers-Baxley.com
