Obituary of Dorothea Cangemi

Dorothea H. Cangemi passed away at age 84 on November 05, 2021.

She is survived by her husband Joseph; daughter Margit of Lohnweiler, Germany; daughter Evelyn of Eagle River, Alaska; daughter Christine of Essen, Germany; daughter Stephanie of Kaiserslautern, Germany; three granddaughters; two grandsons; and three greatgrandchildren.

Dorothea was born March 30, 1937, in Gleiwitz to her late parents Hedwig and Walter Labus. She was raised and educated in Germany. She worked as a secretary in Germany most of her professional career.

She and her husband moved to The Villages from Italy in 2003 to enjoy retirement in sunny Florida. She enjoyed traveling, particularly Bavaria, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, music, dancing, and good food. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved spending time with or talking to her children, grand and great grandchildren as often as she could. She also loved her cats and animals in general.

A Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Hiers- Baxley Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162 . Prayer services will be held at 11:30AM, November 23, 2021 at Hiers- Baxley Life Event Center.
