Obituary of Charles Anthony Castelo

Charles Anthony Castelo, 79, of Belleview, Florida passed away October 30, 2021, at The Ted and Diane Brandley House, Summerfield, Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Elsa Castelo. Charles remarried Patricia Hill who also preceded him in death. Charles was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, New York, a son of the late John and Candida Castelo. In the late 60’s he moved his family to New Jersey. In 1991 Charles and Elsa retired to Belleview, Florida. He worked all his childhood performing varied jobs including parking deck attendant and sanitation truck driver. He eventually found his passion as an over-the-road semi-truck driver. Charles is survived by his son, Michael Castelo and Michael’s wife Katherine of Raleigh, NC, his brother, Joseph Castelo of Long Island, NY, stepson, Duane Wright and his wife Vickie of Ocala, FL and stepdaughter Kris Creeach of Ohio. He is preceded in death by his older brother John Castelo, Jr., of Rockaway, NJ and younger sister, Mary Frances Palermo, Belleview, FL, and his grand-daughter, Angela Elsa-Marie Castelo. He was the grandfather of Christopher, Matthew and Angela Castelo, and step-grandfather to Delaney Wright and Josh and Dustin Kent. The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL 34420 on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be at 10:30AM. Interment will be at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be left at Hiers-Baxley.com.
