Obituary of Barbara Louise Lewis

Barbara Louise (Caldwell) Lewis, 88, of Ocala, went home to be with the Lord and to reunite with loved ones in the place of eternal rest on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was born in Ocala, Florida, and moved to Lake City, Florida where she graduated from Columbia High School; before returning to Ocala where she made her home.

She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Lydia class until the Pandemic in 2020 and then her declining health prevented her from returning.  She retired from Kraft Foods where she was a bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. Caldwell, Sr. and Sarah McNeal Caldwell; grandson, Jackie Lewis, III. She is survived by her two sons, James J. (Cindy) Lewis, Jr., Luling, LA, Michael “Moose” (Omega) Lewis, Ocala; one daughter, Vicki (Gary) Leist, Ocala; one brother, James T. (Jean)Caldwell, Jr, Thomaston, GA;  six grandchildren, Shannon (Richard) Lewis, Charlene Lewis, Luling, LA; Bryan (Keri) Lewis, Lake Panasofkee; Maegan Lewis, Lakeland; Chip (Holli) Leist, Ocala; and Kara (Matt) Smith, Ocala; and fourteen great grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be at 11am at Trinity Baptist Church in Ocala, on Saturday, October 30, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, FL.
