Obituary of Richard Dale Glomsrud

Richard Dale Glomsrud, born March 1, 1928 passed on to his eternal life on September 14, 2021.  He was 93 years old.  His daughters were by his side when he passed.  He was a devoted and loving father. Richard was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Alfred & Myrtle Glomsrud and older brother Earl.  He was a Korean war veteran before he started his career in sales.  He moved his family to Orlando, Florida in 1967.  It was there that he started his long career with Merton Restaurant Supply Company.  Richard met his wife Alice and married in 1971.  After retiring from Merton Restaurant Supply Company, Richard enjoyed his employment with the Transportation Department at the Villages in Lady Lake.  He will be remembered for his great story telling, quick wit, and clever limericks.  He enjoyed fishing, card games, sports, traveling, and a good meal.  He always had an opinion and enjoyed sharing it.  Richard is survived by his daughter Catherine Glomsrud Satre, son in law Jeff Satre, grand-daughter Kimberly Satre, step-daughter Roxane MacGillivray, son in law Mike MacGillivray, grand children Jenna Rogerson, wife to Ben Rogerson, & Michael MacGillivray, and great grand daughter Scarlett Rogerson.  Richard’s cremains will be interned at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
