Obituary of Kylie Rae Collins

Kylie Rae Collins, 32, of Ocala, Florida passed away at her home surrounded by her family on October 3, 2021. She was born April 21, 1989, the daughter of Laura (Michael) McKinney and the late Gary Collins. Kylie was a native of Franklin, Indiana before moving with her family to the Ocala area in 1998. Kylie loved spending time with family and anything Disney, especially Minnie Mouse and The Little Mermaid.  In her early years she was often referred to as Smiley Kylie at Riley (James Whitcomb Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana) because of her infectious smile that followed her throughout her lifetime.  Kylie received her High School Certificate of Completion in 2008 from Hillcrest School, Ocala, Florida.

Kylie is survived by her parents, Laura and Michael McKinney; her sister, Michaela (Anthony) Collins; grandfather, Donald Kaufman, and step-siblings, Aleah McKinney, Matthew McKinney, Michael (Kayla) McKinney, Jacob McKinney, and Jonathon McKinney. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Collins, grandparents, Carol Kaufman, Donald & Phoebe Collins, and Becky McKinney.

A memorial service for Kylie will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470) on Saturday, October 23 at 11:00am. A gathering will take place from 10:00am until the time of the service. The family requests no black clothing, pink preferred. Placement of the urn will follow at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kylie’s name to Hospice of Marion County (3231 SW 34th Ave, Ocala, FL 34474) or Ronald McDonald House of Indianapolis (435 Limestone St, Indianapolis, IN 46202).
