Obituary of Richard "Richie" Leon Niedzwiecki
Richard “Richie” Leon Niedzwiecki, 76, of Silver Springs, Florida passed away on September 15, 2021. He was born May 6, 1945, the son of the late Edward and Madeline Niedzwiecki. Richie was a native of New Britain, Connecticut before moving to Silver Springs from (New Britain, CT) in (1992). In (2013), Richie married his loving wife, Michelle, and together the two shared many years of love and happiness. Richie was a United States Army Veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. A 5-time past president of Ocala Forest Eagles 4216, he always gave to others. He believed in his Eagle oath in helping others and giving back, no matter the circumstances.
Richie is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughters, Veronica (John Knop) May (FL), Kimberly (FL); sons, Richard LaPorte (FL), Kenneth (Amanda) Walker, (NC), Rich Soto (NH) and Michael Niedzwiecki (CT); Grandchildren: Anthony, Nikki, Riley, Talton, Logan, Alexandra, Kenley and Ariel; Surviving sisters and brothers: Gloria Ziegler. Diane Macrae, Patricia Niedzwiecki, Sandy Threlkeld, Denise Tomcic, Maryann Goodstein, Gary Aleksiewicz, John Lane, all of Connecticut, Rosemary Palulis of Florida, and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward & Madeline Niedzwiecki.
A funeral service for Richie will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 29 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470). Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513).
