My name is Nelson Cardona, I met Ruben the fall of 2000. In the years this man has gained my utmost respect by his character and love for family.
Allow me to share these thoughts that are personal to me. He was a husband, father and "Stepfather" for he raised my daughter, Gissele like one of his own. Stepfather is only a term when in fact.. he was much more. He truly was a Dad, a Daddy, protector and provider with all the love one can have for a child. He shared in the moments that are most important from taking care when there was an illness to walking Gissele down the isle when she married to sharing time and love to our grandsons. I may have been Gissele's father but Ruben was everything a father and Dad should be, for that I will forever be grateful and is why I am so moved by this loss of such a good man.
I know this loss will be forever felt by his wife, Jennifer and her son Johnathan and daughter Samantha as well as his other sons. My deepest sorrow and respect to all of you.
Keep in faith. Until we met again in the Glory of Heaven.
