Obituary of Mervyn Earl Libby

Mervyn Earl Libby, 89, of Ocala, Florida passed away on September 1, 2021 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was born July 18, 1932, the son of the late Harold E. and Lucy (Tapley) Libby. Mervyn was a native of Blaine, Maine, before moving to the Ocala area from Utah. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mervyn was an electrical engineer with Bell Aerospace before retiring after 26 years.

Mervyn is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Libby of 68 loving years; his children, Earl Libby, Stephen Libby, and Mark Libby; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Carolyn Wessel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard Libby.

A memorial service for Mervyn will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 25 at Central Baptist Church of Ocala. Burial will remain private for family at Florida National Cemetery.
