Prayers of peace and comfort to all who loved this wonderful woman. My memories of her are wrapped into wonderful memories of times we would go from Texas to join the extended Drilling family in Indiana - a place of corn fields, sunflowers, laughter, and warm hugs. Our mother Ann Drilling Enos adored Harriett, as did we all.

Over the past few days, I've thought a lot about Grandmommy and the impact she had on my life. She often spoke about love and family, and that is what I would like to focus on today as I share some memories of Grandmommy from both my childhood and adult years.
When I was little girl, Grandmommy used to call me twinkle toes. She said the nickname suited me because I seemed to sparkle. And she often told me how much it meant to her when I would sit on he lap. GM also invented unique rituals for her grandkids that made us look forward to visits with her. Once tradition we had together was our yearly shopping sprees. Every year Grandmommy would take us to pick out Christmas and Easter dresses. We would also go back to school shopping together, then she would let us pick out where to eat for lunch. Grandmommy also hosted many family gatherings throughout my childhood. It always seemed like a special occasion when we went to a meal at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's She would have the table set with name cards and the menu to be served written on note cards on the buffet table. I would always be excited to go peak at Grandmommy's menu list to see if she was serving one of my favorites. Some of her famous recipes were Sauerbraten, Soft tacos, Pineapple Bubbly, and Sour cream dessert.
As I grew up, Grandmommy was still an important part of my life. After I graduated high school, Grandmommy and Granddaddy helped me move to my own apartment for the first time when I had a summer internship in Orlando. We went to Red Lobster to celebrate and always had a chuckle about all of the "endless shrimp" we ate that day. After I met Andy, Grandmommy and Grandaddy would welcome us to visit at the condo on the beach at the Palms. Grandmommy was excited to see a young couple just starting their lives together. She told us stories about Granddaddy and her working hard to find their financial independence, and also about finding balance in family life. The four of us would play Bridge together. I still have Grandmommy's bidding cheat sheet written in her lovely script handwriting in my Bridge set.
One memory that especially sticks out in my heart, is when Grandmommy and Granddaddy drove all the way out to Texas when Grace was born. Grandmommy would swaddle Grace up and hold in her arms for hours. Gradmommy would joke and say Gace like being near her because of all the warmth her body gave off. Grandmommy always focused on the important of a firm family foundation, and that visit helped me on my new path of motherhood.
Grandmommy, I will miss your beautiful voice in greeting us at the door and when you answered the phone. I could always feel the love and pride in your voice when we talked, and I will always love you.
