Jan and John,
Your mom, and your family, have been great friends with our family over the years. I remember many occasions accompanying my mother over to Marie's house, usually in the evening, so they could visit, enjoy a cup of coffee, and maybe smoke a cigarette. Not sure why I got dragged along, maybe to keep me out of trouble, but it impressed on me what good friends do, and how they treat each other. Your mom was always very nice to me, and not just because I was hired to mow her lawn from time to time, rolling our lawnmower a few blocks down the sidewalk to get there, hoping it would not break down so I could get a quarter or two from my first employer. She had a great smile, a great laugh and sense of humor, yet was obviously smart as a whip, and full of interesting information. She would have mastered anything she became involved in, I always knew there were no limits with Marie. And it was even more special when my mom became part of the "Keeney Clan", certainly beautiful and happy years in her second half of life. Your mom had a great life, and was so proud of you both. I've always admired how well you both cared for and loved your mother, which speaks volumes about her love of you both. You have volumes of great memories of your mom.
