Obituary of Lannis Rai Delk
Lannis Rai Delk, 68 years old, Ocala, FL, Christian conservative, passed away Thursday, 08/19/2021 at home after a four-month battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith (Judy) Hill Delk; daughter, Lorraine (Lorrie) Alieff Delk Walker (Michael), Lakeland, FL; son, Logan Rai Delk (Denise) Summerfield; and grandchildren, Landen Rai Delk, Lilah Delany Delk, Trent and Kevin Walker, and Abel Gonzalez; a brother, Larry Marlo Delk, Sr. (Renee); nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Irving Delk, Jr. and Lula Alieff (Godwin) Delk; a sister, Lesa Carol Delk Vickery; and a brother, Loren Brian Delk.
A sixth generation Marion Countian, he was proud of his heritage. He worked for the former Florida Telephone Company and its succeeding company named 1974-2005 as a cable splicer covering all of Marion and parts of Levy counties at one time or another. He was a sportsman who enjoyed being outdoors and hunting for deer and wild hogs. Known for his wit and “what’s right’s right, what ain’t ain’t” attitude. He was beloved by many and willing to help out folks in need.
