Obituary of Dillon Miller

Dillon Miller , 90, died peacefully Tuesday, July 27, 2021.  He was born February 23, 1931 in Alva, Florida to John and Lois Miller.  He moved to Ocala in 1946 and graduated from Ocala High School in 1949.  Dillon served proudly in the U.S. Army in the Korean war.

Dillon worked at Lovell Brothers Auto Parts and was the first manager at the Williston, Florida location.  He later worked in insurance sales as a staff manager at Gulf Life Insurance and American General Insurance in Ocala. He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He took great pride in working in his yard and in his garden.  Dillon never met a stranger and he truly loved helping people.  He will be greatly missed.

Dillon is preceded in death by his son James Dillon Miller and brother Milton.  He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Janette Miller, daughters Rita Wilemon (Greg), Brenda Samaniego (Lee), grandchildren Amber Sweeny (Patrick), Travis Samaniego, Cassie Martin (Dylan), Dustin Samaniego (Tiffany), great Grandchildren Kylie, Khloe, Jaxon, Cora, Della, and Greyson, and twin brother Dale Miller.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on August 4, 2021, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala, 910 E Silver Springs, Blvd.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Online condolences may be left at www.hiers-baxley.net
