I loved this guy. I really really did. He’s right smack in the middle of my best college memories, We laughed, he listened, he looked out for me, we danced, he made weird motorcycle noises….and I thought he’d always be there where I left him. In fact last season on a long overdue trip to florida I went to a game and Emily Withers/Edwards and I walked to his house to surprise him knowing he’d crack up to see the two of us, but it was one of the few saturdays he wasn’t there.
To Bo’s family and dearest friends, I just want you to know that from many many miles away and many years gone by, I’m thinking of him with both belly laughter and a broken heart and missing the big hug I didn’t come for sooner.

Bo was the first brother at the Pike house I met, the first to welcome all of the people who are now my best friends in, and the one I looked up to the most. Every moment with Bo was a good and happy one. No person ever stayed positive in all situations more than Bo. I will forever miss him, his laugh, his smile, his chin…. Love you Bo. This is a real tragedy. The world lost a genuinely great human being, and it is sad loss for all. Bo, you will forever be missed. I would do anything to hang out just one more time.

So sorry for your loss. He died far, far before his time. I met Bo when he was in dental school with my brother over 20 years ago. I had the pleasure of working with Bo on many patients together over the past several years. He was such a conscientious dentist, he really cared for his patients. He was the kind of dentist that would always take the extra step of calling me about a case instead of just filling out the referral form. I always enjoyed our conversations. He will be missed by his family, friends, patients, and colleagues. My family and I wish you all the strength and courage to overcome your loss. We are praying for you all. May he Rest In Peace.

I'm at Bo for the first time at lake weir high School on the golf team. From that point on we were inseparable. Meeting Bo truly did change my life I cannot believe how much fun I had every time we were together. We didn't take a lot of pictures but the one I posted is when I got out of boot camp and the funny part is is no matter how long you don't see Bo he makes it feel like you never missed a day with that smile. This world it's truly truly a lesser place without Bo Sweeney. Bo I wish I would have told you I love you more often through the years but my heart is truly broken I should have given you so much more. Doc Carla Patrick Larissa Sam I want you guys to know I love you I hope that I can be there for you like the Sweeney family has been there for me. I know when we get to heaven Bo will be the first one at the gate smiling waiting to show us around. Can't wait to see you brother I promise I'll keep it 110% till we're together again.

It’s hard to put into words what my friend meant to me. He was one of a kind. He was a comedian with impeccable timing. He made fast friends with everyone he encountered. He bled Orange and Blue and proudly wore the blood of all the fish he caught. He always had a smile on his face and enthusiastically helped his patients improve their’s. My condolences go out to his family and many friends, many of which became mine because of the common bond we shared with Bo. Love you always, brother!

You were such a kind hearted soul. So full of life, laughter and of course mischief! Always so quick to laugh and tell a joke. I’ve know you since you were around 9 or 10 years old. I started working for your dad and then later also for you. You were taken way too soon. I was looking forward to the day that you married and had a child of your own. You were so good with everyone else’s children. We would laugh together when I would tell you I was going to “fix you up” with my niece or my cousin just so you would be in my family. You will be greatly missed by so many. Comfort and prayers for the family! Rest In Peace Dr Bo.

Still in complete shock that we lost you. Every memory of you brings a big smile to my face! Bo lit up a room and loved your whit and humor. Two of my top memories of you are of you pretending to be a race car driver with Preston while he wore the lint guard over his face…you never broke character that night! I seriously think I peed my pants laughing...just a little! And of course Tally-Bo that would pop out at SEC games, gator games you name it! And again you would not break character! You made me laugh til my cheeks hurt! It’s always a great time with you! Every time I went to Gainesville, a stop by your party house was first on the list. Gainesville will not be the same on football weekends without your beautiful smile! You are such a kind and generous man and this is a Real hard blow to lose you so soon! Prayers for your family for comfort. Prayers for all your friends and there are so many to have peace and smile at the memories through the tears. Rest In Peace my sweet friend!

Bo, as I am waking up this morning I was praying this was all a bad dream. Unfortunately the sobering reality is that it is not. My thoughts and prayers go out to Henry, Terry, Vicky, Sam, Murray, Mouse, Ryan and all of his extended family, which is pretty much everyone he came to know. If you knew Bo for one day or your whole life, he treated you like family. I will miss your shit eating grin, our hunting and fishing trips, watching you interact with my sons, who you treated like they were like your own. I will miss our bickering and petty arguments which often led to us taking a hiatus from each other due to our mutual stubbornness. The measure of our friendship and bond was that no matter what, we were able to pick up where we left off.
To all who knew Bo, he would drop whatever he was doing if you needed him. He was NEVER too busy to lend an ear or a helping hand. My friend and yours, my brother, had a pure heart and soul that was evident to all of us that had the privilege to know him. Our loss is God’s gain as he gained a Great one.
Until we meet again
Love Matt
With increasingly busy times and demands on our daily lives, I pray that I (we) can all use this tragedy to take a breather. Pick up the phone and make a call that you have procrastinated. Tell someone you love them.
Let go of a grudge. None of us is guaranteed tomorrow.

We met in 1991 at 16 years of age. I had travelled from Australia to Ocala Florida as a foreign exchange student at Lake Weir High School. I had no idea of our connection that was to develop. Souls recognise one another. Brother and sister in Spirit. Two free spirits.
As 1991 came to a close, you held my head in your hands and said, "Don't cry, this won't be the last time Jess". You were right.
Over thee decades, life would present us with all measure of experience, and despite the oceans that separated us, we continued to journey as kindred spirits. Freedom was always so important to us both yet the distance and life experiences never weakened our bond. Through the good the bad and everything in between. A spiritual connection of depth, timelessness and beyond space. Back and forth for 31 years, an unconditional bond.
I wonder what freedom is like where you are Bo in the Heavenly realms? I think it must be beautiful.
As we grieve your departure from this world, the real task for us all is to learn to see you with our hearts and not with our eyes, this is the language of the soul. We will all do our best but it's not easy with a broken heart.
As you held my head in your hands so many times over the three decades saying, "Don't cry, this wont be the last time Jess", I ask you Bo, in the Heavenly realm please hold our hearts for us, and hear the language of our hearts as we struggle to find our words and to see beyond the rain-Bo.
Just like being separated by oceans, I will connect with you in spirit, through music, nature and in my dreams, I will hear you as I always have, beyond the oceans, time, distance and now dimensions.
May God's grace and light shine on your aching hearts, dearest Mr Sweeny, 'Mum' Terri, Sam, Larissa, Ryan and Patrick and your dear families and all grandchildren, Zee, Pattie-Sue, Aunt Vicky, Kimberly, Bird... so many family across Florida, Virginia, Georgia and Colorado and extended families, Carla and Larry my love is with you all. Home is where the heart is, and I feel a very long way from 'home' right now.
With all my love, across the oceans, until we meet again.
Love Jessica and Kariym, and all the Swanns' - Judith, Paul, Andrew, Stuart and all our family Downunder.

Bo was a classmate, a dear friend, and a constant source of entertainment. I could fill the internet with Bo stories. He was universally loved by all who knew him. My whole family thought the world of him and especially the kids that thought Uncle Bo was hilarious. He was just as likely to not show up somewhere as he was to stay a few extra days. He never cleared his voice mail (ever). He lived life the way he want to live. He was generous and kind to others and kept everyone laughing. I'll miss him greatly and will see him again one day in the great hereafter. Love you Bo! Daniel

What a great guy….he was kind and generous with his friendship. Jamie and Daniel are morning their loss. Bo and his dad treated me like we were best buds. I’m grateful for the times Bo spent with my sons as they recall the laughter and that ever present smile. Peace and love to Bo’s family. Big Jamie

I wanted to share my heartfelt condolences with the entire Sweeny family. There are no words to explain the pain that is felt by so many. Bo had such a wonderful impact on us all. He was the connector to so many friendships and life will not be the same. He will be so dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this challenging time.
Bo,
It’s bye for now, but not forever.. love you my man.
