Even as a small child, I appreciated his warmth, authentic directness, humor and kindness. He always seemed to have a twinkle in his eye and it felt like he really paid attention to those he was with. The Original quiet man with deep emotions. He took special care of his friends by feeding them delicious and complicated meals, taking them on wonderful boat rides and extending invitations to visit and share a glass of red with him. Not to forget the extent he went to to don a tutu for fun with friends. He loved his wife. A closer pair you can not find. May you finally breath deep and be at rest my friend. Barbara

My grandfather was a good man. We were separated in generations but we shared a common bond through our marine corps service. My fondest memory is returning from combat in Afghanistan and sharing stories of our journeys throughout the world. I loved him dearly and I will truly miss him. I’m happy he is no longer suffering and will be shining down on our family. Goodbye Grampy I love you.
